Lisa M. Prater Bailey is a 1997 graduate of Louisiana State University Law Center and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1993 from Louisiana State University. She began her legal career as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable R. Michael Caldwell of the 19th Judicial District Court in both Civil and Criminal Court.
Following this judicial clerkship, Lisa was an associate attorney with the firm of McKeithen, McKeithen and Bowman prior to becoming an Associate with Lee & Walsh in April of 2001 until February of 2009 when she opened her own firm of Prater Bailey & Associates, LLC.
Lisa’s practice focuses strictly on family law. She is skilled in the courtroom, but trained in both Divorce Mediation and the Collaborative Divorce Process.
She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association. She is also active in the Baton Rouge Bar Association having been elected to the Young Lawyers Section Council from 2001 through 2006.
Ms. Prater Bailey is also an active member of the Family Law Section of the Baton Rouge Bar Association serving as Chair of the Family Law Section in 2008.
She served as President of the Baton Rouge Association of Women Attorneys in 2001.
She also served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for abused and neglected children in foster care.
